Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) 10 TOP Trivia

Marvel Trivia

Some lesser-known details from the Marvel Cinematic Universe:

1- Kaecilius’ meaning

In Dr. Strange (2016), the villain is Kaecilius (Mads Mikkelsen). His name is derived from the Latin word “caecilius”, which means “blind”. Thus, Kaecilius is (spiritually) a blind man because of his blind faith in Dormammu.

2- The Shocker has Crossbones gauntlet

Smuggling hi-tech weapons in the underworld happens frequently in the MCU (at places like Madripoor). Crossbones’ mechanical gauntlet was acquired by the Tinkerer in Spider-Man: Homecoming, who modified it and made it an electric weapon, which was subsequently used by the Shocker.

3- Obadiah Stane checks on Tony

Tony had delayed his flight to Afghanistan and was late for the Jericho missile demonstration. Obadiah called him to check on his whereabouts and see if the hit he had put on Tony had been carried out.

4- Psychiatric Hospital in Moon Knight Season 1

Let’s add one detail from a Disney+ MCU show. Arthur Harrow is last seen in Sienkiewicz Psychiatric Hospital before Jake Lockley shoots him.

The hospital’s name refers to superstar artist Bill Sienkiewicz, who extensively drew the character in the 80s.

PS: Sienkiewicz also co-created my favourite mutant, David Haller, aka Legion.

5- Hawkeye and Ant-Man

In Civil War, both of them recreate this comic book cover:

6- Shang-Chi’s character development

During his fight with the Death Dealer, Shang-Chi decides to kill him but is stopped inches away from stabbing Death Dealer.

Shang-Chi knows that he has to kill his father to stop him from releasing the Dweller In Darkness in the 3rd act. He gains the upper hand in the fight and disarms Wenwu. When it’s time to kill, he decides not to do it, unlike earlier with the Death Dealer. This shows how much character development he has at the end of the movie. He controls over his impulses and doesn’t give in to his worst tendencies.

7- Why the Ex-Wife didn’t work

In Iron Man 2 (2010), James Rhodes updates his suit with Hammer Industries weapons. His best missile is the “ex-wife” (capable of destroying a bunker or small building) made by Justin Hammer, but it fails to work because Rhodes shoots it from a smaller distance. This is further evidenced in the Iron Man 3 Prelude comic, in which he’s shot by an ex-wife missile launched by a tank while fighting The Ten Rings in Hong Kong. In conclusion, the weapon worked, but James had used it incorrectly.

8- Rhodes was present in the shawarma scene of Avengers (2012)

The same Iron Man 3 Prelude also shows War Machine joining the Avengers at the shawarma diner.

Side note: this art looks terrible, especially Thor’s beard and Steve’s face.

9- Hela heals herself

Marvel Trivia

Cate Blanchett as Hela Odinsdottir.

In Thor: Ragnarok (2017), Hela of the Marvel Universe grows stronger the longer she stays in Asgard. This is proven right when she arrives on Asgard and can heal herself instantly.

10- Christine Everhart’s reaction

Marvel Trivia

When Tony from the Marvel Universe announces that he’s Iron Man in the first (2008) movie, everybody stands up in shock, and commotion ensues. Only Christine Everhart is sitting because she has already deduced Tony’s not-so-secret identity since she was the one who tipped him off about Obadiah’s involvement with the Ten Rings.
