Loki will be focused on both time travel and the multiverse concept. In this way, it is rumored that the series will introduce alternate versions of the Trickster God. If these are accurate, Marvel has figured out a better way to recast Tom Hiddleston.

How The Multiverse Could Introduce New Lokis

It is important to note that the multiverse model was introduced in the 2016’s Doctor Strange, and has more than simple alternative timelines. As director Scott Derrickson pointed out on Twitter, MCU’s multiverse model is lifted directly from the comics, most notably the full description given in Doctor Strange # 21.

Last November, it was reported that the show’s co-star Sophia Di Martino would act as a female Loki. If Sophia Di Martino is indeed assuming as a female Loki, she will serve as a significant rival in Thor: Love & Thunder, which sees Natalie Portman. Returning director Taika Waititi is taking inspiration from Jason Aaron.
