MCU Phase 5 Timeline Order on Disney+: What Fans Need to Know

Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been one of the most divisive chapters yet. While projects like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Thunderbolts, and Daredevil: Born Again earned high praise, others, such as Secret Invasion and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, faced heavy criticism. Now, Disney+ has officially updated its “Complete Timeline” feature, giving fans the chronological order of every Phase 5 installment.
What Is the MCU Phase 5 Timeline Order?
According to Disney+, the Phase 5 lineup now streams in this order:
- Echo
- Ironheart
- Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
- Secret Invasion
- The Marvels
- Deadpool & Wolverine
- Agatha All Along
- Daredevil: Born Again
- Captain America: Brave New World
- Thunderbolts
Interestingly, Loki Season 2 is absent from the timeline because its TVA storyline exists outside the normal flow of time. Based on its connections to Quantumania, it would slot neatly after that film, but Disney+ leaves it marked with an asterisk.
Why Are Echo and Ironheart Placed So Early?
The placement of Echo and Ironheart among earlier MCU entries raised eyebrows. Both shows were filmed years ago but delayed multiple times. Disney+ appears to have placed them closer to when their stories occur in-universe, rather than their release dates.
How Does This Set Up MCU Phase 6?
Phase 6 will continue the Multiverse Saga, but big changes have already shaken its foundation. Originally meant to build around Kang, plans pivoted after Jonathan Majors’ legal troubles, with Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom stepping into the spotlight.
The next major update to Disney+’s timeline will likely come with The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Set in the 1960s on an alternate universe (Earth-828), its exact placement may be less critical to the main timeline but will still be a landmark entry.
Beyond that, Wonder Man is expected to arrive before Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday, keeping release order and timeline order mostly aligned.
What Does the Future Hold for the MCU Timeline?
Everything moving forward is expected to unfold during the 14-month gap after Thunderbolts and before its post-credit scene. That leaves Marvel plenty of room to expand its universe while tying threads together ahead of Avengers: Doomsday.
