Spider-Man’s Hidden Moon Knight Easter Egg in ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’

Marvel Studios’ latest animated hit, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, is packed with countless Easter eggs and cameos, from Doctor Strange and Iron Man to Uncle Ben. However, one of the most intriguing hidden details ties back to Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight.

In Episode 6, fans spotted a subtle yet clever reference to Marc Spector’s Disney+ series—a callback that raises questions about Spider-Man and Moon Knight’s future in the MCU.

Moon Knight Easter Egg in Episode 6

While hanging out with Nico Minoru and Harry Osborn, Peter Parker pulls out a box of VHS tapes, one of which is labeled Tomb Buster.

Tomb Buster is the same fictional film referenced in Moon Knight (2022). In the show, Steven Grant watches a movie called Tomb Buster, which features an Indiana Jones-style adventurer.

Even more interestingly, Steven Grant’s name comes from the main character in this in-universe film—Marc Spector’s mind subconsciously borrowed it for one of his alternate identities.

The Hidden Meaning Behind This Reference

While this might seem like a fun nod to Moon Knight, it could actually have a deeper thematic connection.

✅ Both Spider-Man and Moon Knight struggle with dual identities

Seeing Nico Minoru discover Peter Parker’s secret identity adds tension to his double life.

Similarly, Marc Spector (Moon Knight) suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), with multiple alters, including Steven Grant and Jake Lockley.

Both characters deal with the internal battle between who they are and who they need to be.

✅ Possible foreshadowing of a future Spider-Man & Moon Knight team-up?

This Easter egg could hint that Moon Knight and Spider-Man will cross paths in the MCU.
Fans have speculated that Moon Knight could appear in a Midnight Suns project alongside heroes like Blade, Doctor Strange, and Ghost Rider.
Meanwhile, Spider-Man is expected to play a major role in Avengers: Secret Wars—and perhaps Moon Knight could join the fight?

Will Spider-Man and Moon Knight Meet in the MCU?

Despite Moon Knight’s uncertain MCU future, this small reference keeps his presence alive in the franchise.

So far, Moon Knight has:

Starred in his solo Disney+ series (2022)
Appeared in one episode of What If…?
Received no official confirmation for a Season 2 or movie appearance
With ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ Spider-Man 4 in development and Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars on the horizon, fans are hopeful that Moon Knight and Spider-Man will share the screen sooner rather than later.
