Loki Season 3 Will HAPPEN After Deadpool & Wolverine.

With the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) constantly expanding, fans are curious about the future of Loki—specifically whether Loki Season 3 will happen, especially after the upcoming Deadpool and Wolverine projects. The first two seasons of Loki have been a major success, but recent statements from Marvel Studios suggest that the show’s future is still undecided.

Kevin Wright on Loki’s Future
In December 2023, Loki producer Kevin Wright addressed the possibility of Loki Season 3 during an interview with TVLine. He emphasized the importance of having a solid narrative before moving forward with another season:
“For two seasons, I’ve loved working with this team… I would love to keep telling those stories with them, in this world. I don’t think any of us would ever want to rush into a Season 3 if there’s not a good story to tell.”
Wright also hinted at the potential for a spin-off centered around the Time Variance Authority (TVA), comparing it to how Better Call Saul spun off from Breaking Bad:
“But I think this team could go off and tell other stories. Maybe it’s not Loki Season 3. Maybe there’s something we can continue to do at the TVA.”
Loki Season 2: A Closing Chapter?
Wright’s comments on Loki Season 2 have further fueled speculation about the future of the series. During a November 2023 interview with the Phase Zero podcast, he described the second season as a “closing of the book,” indicating that the two seasons were intended to be a complete narrative arc:
“I will say this: I said it and I know [head writer] Eric Martin kind of repeated it… We did treat this like a closing of the book.”
Despite this, Wright expressed his affection for the Loki universe and its characters, particularly Sylvie and the TVA, leaving the door open for more stories in the future.
The Open-Ended Future of Loki
In an October 2023 interview with Variety, Wright further discussed the possibility of Loki Season 3, noting that while Season 2 was not designed to set up a third season, the story remains “open-ended”:
“There certainly can be many, many, many more stories told with Loki in the Loki world, and in other worlds connected to Loki, the character.”
This suggests that while Loki Season 3 is not currently in the works, there are plenty of possibilities for the character’s future in the MCU.
What’s Next for the TVA After Deadpool & Wolverine?
As Marvel’s Multiverse Saga continues to unfold, the TVA is set to play a key role, particularly in the lead-up to Secret Wars. At San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced a five-issue comic series titled TVA, written by Loki writer Katharyn Blair. The series will explore the TVA’s efforts to repair the Multiverse by recruiting a new band of heroes.
Given this expansion into the comics, it’s clear that the TVA will continue to be a significant player in the MCU, even as the focus shifts from Kang to other characters like Doctor Doom.
Will Loki Return After Deadpool?
While Loki Season 3 is not confirmed, it’s likely that we’ll see more of the TVA and potentially Loki himself in future MCU projects, especially as the Multiverse Saga reaches its climax. With Deadpool 3 and Wolverine entering the fold, the possibility of crossover events and character appearances only grows.
Characters like Hunter B-15, Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson), and Ouroboros (Ke Huy Quan) could all return, alongside Loki and Sylvie, in whatever form the next chapter of their story takes.
