Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 23 Recap
In the previous episode, we got sneak peeks into Annie Leonhart’s past and how it shaped her character and actions in Season 1.
Leonhart was born to a Marleyan mother and an Eldian father, and she was abandoned as a toddler due to generations of animosity between the two nations. As a result, an Eldian man from another country who had been transported to the Liberio Internment Zone adopted and reared her as his own.
He did, however, subject her to rigorous physical training from the time she was a child in order to ensure that she became a Marleyan soldier. She beat him so hard the day she became strong enough, due to the frustration she had stored up over the years, that he was rendered unable to walk.
Floch begins the scene by shooting a Volunteer in the hand for defying his orders. He then gives them the opportunity to survive if they help the Eldian kingdom. When the volunteer who had been wounded in the hand earlier speaks up in protest, Floch quickly interrupts him and shoots him in the head.

The ending of the episode shows Hange trying to negotiate with Magath and Pieck as we confirm that Levi is alive albeit severely injured.

In the next episode, we might probably see the fight between Armin and Connie as they try to determine Falco’s fate. Moreover, the characters seem to be desperately trying to come to terms with the Rumbling as the preview shows shots of Mikasa and Jean.
