Actor Hugh Jackman Shares His Workout Routine While He Trained For Wolverine


Being famously known for his role as Wolverine on screen, it is known by all that Hugh Jackman has an incredible physique. In a recent interview with Dr. Peter Attia, Jackman opens up about his experience of playing Wolverine. It is a fact that the actor would have to keep up with his body while playing his character. Jackman shared that with each movie, he also became “more muscular” and improved himself for the screen.

Wolverine was already in remarkable shape for X-Men, X2, and The Last Stand. However, Jackman still leveled up his physique for the following films, starting with X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Speaking to the interviewer, the actor said that his trainer invited a bodybuilder to join them for their sessions for Wolverine. The bodybuilder also helped him impart a lot of valuable and healthy workout habits for him.


According to Jackman, the bodybuilder advised him on growing muscle by starting with lighter weights. This tip helped him to prepare both his body and his mind.

“He starts super light on everything and builds up like it’s fun,” Jackman said. Starting light and getting used to it is something the actor has continued to implement in his workouts till now.

“[It’s] a great thing I learned from him that I use to this day,” he said. “By the time you’re doing your third or fourth set, you actually really want to lift because your body has gotten used to it,” Jackman shared.
