Marvel head, Kevin Feige participated in an Ask Me Almost Anything (AMAA) session on Reddit. He gave back some of the unanswered burning questions about the blockbuster.
One of them was about an apparent issue some have noticed with what should have been the most uplifting part of the whole story. Marvel Studios’ President revealed some interesting details that may foreshadow for what’s to come for Bruce Banner in the MCU.
Hulk’s Infinity Gauntlet Snap.
Kevin was asked about The Hulk’s Infinity Gauntlet snap which brought back the ones lost. Another fan asked whether it was wise to reverse the snap that could have killed many of them as they could have been brought back 100 ft in the air (and a plane hits them) or an accident takes place.
“Is it possible that Hulk, when doing the snap, not only brought everyone back but also brought them back in a safe place?”
Feige answered simply: “We refer to the version of Hulk in Endgame as Smart Hulk. So, yes.”
This shows Feige was confident about the Bruce for being smart enough to cope with Hulk’s strength to manage the Snap effect.
This means he has all of the strength and force of Hulk, with Banner’s extremely intelligent science brain.
Kevin Talks about Hulk’s character arc.
During the questionnaire round, fans were sparking their thoughts over Kevin. One of the fans quizzed Kevin about the discussion Mark Ruffalo had had with Kevin about Hulk’s character arc, a couple of years ago.
Feige said, “Many years ago, Mark came in for a meeting with us at Marvel Studios to discuss ways in which the Hulk could grow and evolve in upcoming films. He pitched a lot of cool ideas, some of which led to what you saw in Thor: Ragnarok, Infinity War and Endgame, and some of which would still be cool to see someday.”
That simply signals that Avengers: Endgame is not the last time we see The Hulk aka Bruce Banner in the MCU!
Feige also appeared to hint that Hulk could be seen again the MCU.
Fans thought that Endgame would be the end of Endgame road for the “original six” Avengers. Though only Black Widow, Iron Man and Captain America appeared had definitive endings: the former two died, the latter went back to the past and had grown old by the time the film ended.
A fan had a tricky question, “A while ago, you said you had a meeting with Mark Ruffalo and asked what he wanted out of the Hulk, then included that in Ragnarok, Infinity war and Endgame.
“Now that all 3 movies are out, can we get more information on what Ruffalo wanted out of the Hulk?”
Feige replied: “Many years ago, Mark came in for a meeting with us at Marvel Studios to discuss ways in which the Hulk could grow and evolve in upcoming films.
“He pitched a lot of cool ideas, some of which led to what you saw in Thor: Ragnarok, Infinity War and Endgame, and some of which would still be cool to see someday.”
So we get a little hint that Mark Ruffalo could still reprise the role going forward.
