D23 2024: First Look at Muse and More in Daredevil: Born Again Trailer

At D23 2024, Marvel Studios unveiled a full-length trailer for the highly anticipated Daredevil: Born Again, giving fans their first official look at the new villain, Muse. Slated for a Disney+ release in March 2025, the series will mark the return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock (Daredevil), following his brief appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Echo.
The show will also bring back beloved characters from the original Netflix series, including Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle (The Punisher). Additionally, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk (Kingpin) will make his return, following his last appearance in Echo.
Muse Villain Revealed
The trailer introduced Muse, who looks strikingly accurate to his comic book counterpart. Clad in an almost all-white costume with a black ink-like substance outlining and dripping from the eye holes of his white mask, Muse stands out as a visually intriguing villain. While the footage doesn’t reveal much about Muse’s movement or dialogue, it gives a first glimpse into the character.
In the comics, Muse is an artist endowed with powers like imperceptibility, super strength, and super speed. His ability to become imperceptible presents a unique challenge for Daredevil, whose enhanced senses are central to his combat skills. According to the Marvel Wiki, “Muse’s body acts like a vortex which can pull in every bit of sensory information around him.” This makes him a particularly formidable opponent for Daredevil, creating an intriguing dynamic for the series.
Other Villains on the Horizon
The Daredevil: Born Again trailer also teased several other familiar villains. Wilson Fisk, returning with his wife Vanessa, will continue to be a major antagonist. Vanessa, who evolved into a more independent and sinister figure by the end of the Netflix series, will likely play a significant role in the new season.
Wilson Bethel’s Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, also known as Bullseye, makes a brief appearance at the start of the trailer. This continuation of Bullseye’s story follows the cliffhanger from Daredevil Season 3, promising to delve deeper into his character’s arc.
With a mix of returning favorites and exciting new villains, Daredevil: Born Again is shaping up to be a must-watch for fans of the Marvel universe. Keep an eye out for more updates as the March 2025 release date approaches.
