Black Panther 2: Marvel Will Not Recast The Role of T’Challa

Unlike all the other news we got in this year, this news just has a nice ring to it when we read it. Marvel, this is why we love you!

Gone but not Forgotten!

Marvel lost one of its finest actors, and the world lost one of its most humble, sweet, talented actors this year. While many lost their lives to many tragedies this year, the loss of Chadwick Boseman, who battled pollen cancer for four years, stayed in our minds.

Most of the fans were worried about how Marvel will continue the Black Panther franchise without its lead, Chadwick, but it looks like Marvel made the right decision, and fans were worried for nothing.

Did the Petitions work?

Fans were signing petitions for many things regarding Black Panther 2, and some among them were not to recast the role of T’Challa, and another would be to make Shuri take up the mantle.

While fans were just signing petitions and hoping they would be heard, Marvel took the right decision and announced yesterday in the Disney Investors meeting that the character T’Challa will not be recast. Also, Marvel will make sure to honor the legacy of the character and the actor in a way it seems fit.

This comes as great news to Marvel fans and particularly of the franchise because there were rumors that Chadwick Boseman will be replaced and the movie would continue without any change except paying tribute to the late actor in the credits.

What does this mean?

Well, according to the statement by Kevin Feige, it is said that they will explore more about the already introduced characters in the first installment. Now, does that mean Shuri will become the next Black Panther?

It’s not something very strange because, in the comics, Shuri is the one that continues the Black Panther’s legacy and protects Wakanda in her time by taking on the mantle her brother left her.

There have been God knows how many petitions to make Shuri the next Black Panther. With this latest statement from Kevin Feige, there are chances that Shuri might become the next Black Panther.

Ryan Coogler will write and direct Black Panther 2, and the movie is scheduled to release on July 8th, 2022. There are rumors that the shooting will begin in mid-2021. So we would have to wait until then to start getting some reliable information probably.
