Why Was Dragon in Prison After God Valley Incident?

Many things changed after the God Valley incident, and the resolve of many changed as well. Monkey D Dragon was the most notable one, as he went on to find the Revolutionary Army after that.

His resolve to save people from the World Government got stronger after God Valley, but his exit wasn’t smooth.

Why was Monkey D Dragon in Prison?

During the God Valley incident, amid the chaos, even the Navy stood dumbfounded at the atrocities of the World Nobles. Still, many decided to stay away from trouble and not help the innocent citizens as they were being hunted, killed or massacred by the World Nobles.

But Dragon could not stand and watch it happen as a Navy or a human, so he defied orders and threatened his superiors to save as many innocent people as possible.

Not only that, he tranquillised a Celestial Dragon when he was about to kill Kuma, which is one of the severe crimes in the One Piece world.

So, his career in the Navy was doomed; well, his life was doomed. There was no escaping death after that, and with his limited power and status, he was thrown in prison.

He was not powerful enough to escape from the Navy unharmed back then, so Garp is seen walking into the prison and releasing him.

Even though Garp did not seem to have any official petition or power to do so, the World Government and the Navy HQ probably had no other option but to let it slide, as they knew he knew the truth and was also powerful enough to rival Holy Knights.

We are yet to get the full spoilers, but now, fans are already expecting Dragon to free Garp from the prison Blackbeard has put him in.
