Is The World’s Finest Assassin Renewed For Season 2? When Could It Release?
Another fantastic series, The World’s Finest Assassin has been a source of major entertainment for many of us who love the isekai genre. It has stayed with us through various weekly releases for the better part of three months so we’re sad to say goodbye to this engrossing anime.
Now, the one question in the minds of many fans across the world, is whether the series has been greenlit for Season 2. And if so, when could it be potentially released?

At the time of writing, creators of the series have not made any official announcement regarding a second season. However, even though there’s no news yet about the series’ future installments, fans can remain hopeful for the anime’s return on Crunchyroll.
The reason we talk about Season 2 on a hopeful note is because there is a decent amount of source material to work with should a Season 2 be announced. And the series gained good popularity among international fans so that’s also another factor.
The series’ season one finale has wrapped up by adapting up until the end of volume one of the light novel series. And currently, six volumes of the light novel have been released in Japan which means there’s a lot of source material for not only a second but also a third season.
Furthermore, the popularity of The World’s Finest Assassin is a convincing reason to be optimistic about Season 2. The anime’s current score is a solid 7.7 out of 10 on IMDB. It is 7.58/10 on MyAnimeList and 4.8/5 on Crunchyroll.
The one problem we’re wary of is that the manga sales in Japan didn’t increase much when the anime was being aired. While the level of manga sales can often be a setback for anime renewals, the anime adaptation is popular enough to merit a Season 2.

Since the series hasn’t been announced for a renewal, there’s no set release date as yet. But we can make some speculations based on the production schedule for Season 1.
The anime was announced in February 2021. It then premiered in the first week of October. So, based on Season 1’s timeline, and the ample availability of source material, fans can probably expect the anime to make a comeback in October 2022 during the fall anime season.
Additionally, we may also see the series return as a split-cour production. This means part one may be released first on one slate, taking a break for a slate and then coming back for a second broadcast afterwards.
With everything considered, since there is more than enough source material for a 24 episode run, instead of Season 1’s 12, we may even see The World’s Finest Assassin Season 2 returning as early as Summer 2022.
